The start of a year-long celebration of the 200th Birthday of Madison County and the City of Jackson will begin on Saturday, August 14, 2021 downtown at the farmers’ market. The event will begin with the official groundbreaking for Bicentennial Park, which will be a green landscaped showcase reflecting back on our 200 year history, but also looking forward to our future.
Events for every age from young to old will begin at 2 pm all around the farmers’ market area. Fun lawn games, historic re-enactors, balloon artist, to hands-on emergency vehicles, trampoline jump, blow-up slide, blow-up obstacle course, to story time for the kids and historic dolls come alive with stories from our community’s past. More, yes there is…….yoga classes, mobile escape room bus, corn hole, and DJ’s playing your favorites all afternoon.
