The public is invited to the free, inaugural Casey Jones Village Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Ellie Holcomb concert that was planned for later that night has been canceled but the day still will be filled with free family-friendly activities and food. The festival is the first of what is hoped to be an annual event. This year’s event is part of the Jackson-Madison County Bicentennial Celebration.

Sponsored by WNBJ Channel 39, US Foods, Forever Communications and Coca Cola, the day will include arts and crafts, local artisans, vendors, food trucks and activities for children. All of the activities will happen on the grounds of the Village surrounding the Old Country Store.

Vendors include Lessel’s Pottery Shed, Creations by Cara-Anne, KB Designs, Little Batch Balms, Grinning Soul Crochet, Scentsy, Me & Three, W&A Ranch, Links and Leather, Girl Scouts, Cobalt Vtg, Metal & Marigolds, Cups by Rachel, Nature’s Pup Bakery, CH Beads, Shop Wonderfully Made, Dry Hollow Farms, Zig Zag Stitching, Witherspoon & Co., This Girls Garage, Independent Chalk Couture, Under the Magnolia Design Co., Velvet Heart Studio, Nobles Knick Knacks, Hugg Haven Handmade and Perrrfectly Handmade.

“We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to bring together people of all ages for this free event, as we celebrate Jackson and Madison County’s 200 years of existence,” Brooks Shaw, Old Country Store owner, said. “We look forward to fun, food and making memories together and are especially grateful to our sponsors and everyone who is making this day possible.”
