Madison County Communities Celebrate Unique History During Heritage Days

In addition to celebrating the 200^th birthdays of the City of Jackson and Madison County, organizers in individual communities are planning “Heritage Days”  to commemorate their history.

The first Heritage Day will take place in Beech Bluff on Saturday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Beech Bluff Recreation Center (school gym) at 4488 Beech Bluff Road in Beech Bluff, TN. This will be in conjunction with the community stew that takes place in September every year. Events for all ages are planned throughout the day including kids, youth and adult activities, antique cars, alumni pick-up baseball game, community church historical exhibits, music by the Will Beyer Band, kettle cooked stew, hot dogs and a graduating class picture gallery. The day will end with the annual Beech Bluff Parade with Mayor Jimmy Harris as the grand marshall. Bring your lawn chair for the parade.  The event is being planned by the community and the Madison County Fire Station #4.

Pinson Heritage Day is scheduled for Saturday September 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Pinson Ruritan Club and the Madison County Fire Station No. 13 have planned tours of some of the historical buildings, as part of the event. Attendees can also hear about the artifacts at Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park including the history of Madison County. Food will be available and  entertainment provided by the Wayne Jerrolds Band. Festivities will take place at the Pinson Ruritan Club at 4060 Highway 45 South in Pinson, TN.
